with Me.† For only the servants of the cross find the way of blessedness and of true light.
O Lord Jesus, just as Your way was narrow and despised by the world, grant me the grace to imitate You, though the world may despise me. “A student is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master.” † Let Your servant be exercised in Your life, for therein is my salvation and true holiness. Whatever I read or hear it does not refresh me nor delight me to the full.
My son, “Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.” † “Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me... and I will love him and show myself to him,” † and will give him “the right to sit with me on my throne”.†
O Lord Jesus, as You have said and promised, so truly let it be, and let it be mine to win it. I have received the cross, I have received it from Your hand. I will bear it, and bear it even to death, as You have laid it on me. Truly a good man's life is a cross, but it is also a guide to paradise. We have
